Virgie brought her two daughters Courtney and Ashley in for photos earlier this week. Courtney is home from California for Ashley's wedding this upcoming weekend! Mother/daughter pictures are always a blast!
Last Thursday morning I drove to Ryan, Iowa to photograph my good friend Ethan with his whole entire family. This lucky little guy is definitely loved! And what boy doesn't LOVE a tractor ride with grandpa! What a great location to shoot at. Thanks for having me out guys!
Okay Matt. . it wasn't that bad right? We got to go to a cool location where the cats wanted to come home with us. Now it's all over and you won't have to have pictures taken again till your wedding!!! I particularly love the expression in this black and white . . .hmmmmm.
For the last couple of years I have gone and talked to the kids at Hansen Elementary about being a photographer. They always ask such great questions and I absolutely LOVE their thank you notes and have to share some with you . . .
"Thank you for coming to our classroom and teaching us about photography. The most interesting thing was that you take 1,000 photos for a wedding. This will really help me in the future. Thank you again."
"...I really like the job of being a photographer. I think that I want to love a job as a photographer."
" ...The most interesting part was when you told us that you were the only photographer. That really surprised me. How would you do it? I think this would be a great job that I would really enjoy in the future. Thank you very much."
"...I learned that there are many fields of photography that you could be in. I thought your jewelry and purses were very cool. Thanks again."
"...I am going to think about becoming a photography person."
The last one was my favorite. Thank You Hansen kids! I love visiting you!
Yippee. . .I am so excited to photograph Keeley and Nate's wedding. Years ago I took Keeley's graduation photos. I thought I recognized Nate when he came in with her and I had forgotten that they were high school sweethearts. . . junior high to be exact. . wow.
Well, I don't know if I can make a long story short on this one.Darci (Des Moines Cooper/ Dlu and You Photography) and I photographed this wedding in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We met Michael years ago when he was playing in a band called the Benjy Davis Project at the Reverb here in Cedar Falls.
Over the years, they have become one of our favorite bands. It was a blast for us to go do what we love together. . . take pictures! Thanks Jodi & Michael for being such great subjects and having us down!
Alice was here for a session last week. I was so excited to photograph her with her horse Zoro. He had to eat a few extra helpings of grass as we went!
So the funny story with this session is we had been planning to do pictures in this great field of flowers that I know of. "Plan A" was ruined due to flooding. So we came up with "Plan B"a different field that has beautiful purple flowers. Apparently they only show their pretty faces the morning! Are you kidding me?! Anyway the whole session still turned out awesome despite the fact that the flowers didn't want to play with us!
